Singapore Airshow 2016 Takes Off to a Flying Start

SINGAPORE, 16 February 2016 – Mr Khaw Boon Wan, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport and Dr Ng Eng Hen, Minister for Defence today officially opened Singapore Airshow 2016, Asia’s largest and one of the most important aerospace and defence exhibitions in the world.

Also gracing the ceremony were Mr Ong Ye Kung, Acting Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence, Mrs Josephine Teo, Senior Minister of State, Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Transport and Dr Maliki Bin Osman, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Singapore Airshow 2016 will see the participation of more than 1000 exhibiting companies from some 50 countries including 65 of the top 100 global aerospace companies. The show will also welcome 20 country groups/pavilions including Indonesia and the Philippines who are participating in the Singapore Airshow for the first time as country pavilions.
