Daniel Riefer is partner with McKinsey based in Munich, Germany. He started his career as a Lufthansa pilot and in 2011, as part of Lufthansa’s burnFAIR program, conducted world’s first SAF flight in regular airline operations. At McKinsey, Daniel focuses on aviation clients along the entire value chain – from commercial airlines to private jets, MRO providers and SAF producers, and from on-time performance to fleet strategy, and HR topics. Together with the WEF Clean Skies for Tomorrow coalition, Daniel assessed options to decarbonize aviation and published reports on SAF scale-up and e-fuels opportunities.
